Testimonials

Carol Webster – Public Accountability Manager at BBC Worldwide

Belinda was a volunteer member of the BBC Trust’s Regional Audience Council for the East Midlands. During her term in the role she participated fully in all aspects bringing views from her networks and engaging in consultations with audience members. Her professional approach and dedication to the role was an asset to the panel.

Christopher Bevan – Film Director – YSP Media

Belinda is a committed, organised and creative producer with an ability to bring the most audacious of projects to life in an efficient and energetic way. I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with Belinda on several projects and on each we’ve been able to achieve a high level of production value which wouldn’t have been possible without her involvement. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Belinda due to her creative thinking and immense professionalism at all times.

Mark Player – Writer, Researcher, Filmmaker & Editor

We initially brought Belinda on as a Production Manager (and later as a Producer) for an ambitious short film project with many logistical challenges. Her vast wealth of experience from various industries ensured that these challenges were overcome, despite limited resources.

Belinda is organised, highly personable and always quick to take the initiative. She was more than capable of managing the 50+ people involved in the project, all of whom from different sectors with unique needs to facilitate.

I would highly recommend Belinda. I’m not sure how we would’ve managed without her.

John Whall, Participation Curator, QUAD

The team developed a behind the scenes ‘making of’ film for the Shine a Light project here at QUAD. The film followed the transformation of a local LGBT and Human Rights group, whose passion was the treatment of the LGBT community within care homes. They both demonstrated a respect for and delicate portrayal of the group, while also producing a well-crafted documentary film representing the reasoning behind the Shine a Light Project: to make visible the passions and interests of those over 60. Their professionalism, approach and skill resulted in an extremely moving and honest film, which accurately represented the project, as well as the group themselves.

Sue and Jenny – Seen Ya Rights – A Creative Journey for Change

From explaining the whys and wherefores of the filming process, to gaining us up close access to seeing a film being made, Belinda was the hub that both put us at ease, and made the whole experience of “being subjects of a film”, such great fun.

She has a magnetic personality, plus a professional adeptness at covering all corners of what, for us, was unknown, and potentially, slightly scary territory. The result? Thanks to Belinda’s excellent management, a great film and a time we’ll remember with warmth and pride.

Oh, and don’t let’s forget her delicious homemade millionaire shortbread – scrummy!

Tommy Thompson – Senior Lecturer in Computer Science, Freelance Game AI Programmer & Co-Director of Table Flip Games

I came to work with Belinda after she was tasked with boosting the awareness of the computer game courses based at the University of Derby. While these things are typically a rather cut-and-dry affair of marketing guidelines and budgets, we were fortunate that Belinda came on board and challenged these preconceptions.

Belinda took time to work with us to understand not only the key outlets for our marketing, but also the message that they should present to readers. This was achieved thanks to Belinda taking the time to understand the culture and people behind our work, both staff and student alike. We were fortunate to have a number of great pieces be published to represent our courses, including an advertisement and interview in an issue of EDGE magazine that I am immensely proud of (and keep a copy of in my bookshelf). As such, I offer my highest recommendation for her services.

Phil Morris – Senior Lecturer University of Derby

Belinda is a whilwind of creativity and energy. Clearly a self starter she organised and created many ‘talking head’ shots of students for my course CGMA at Derby University. The outcome of these was totally professional (we didn’t need to edit these again as we have had to do before) and of the highest of quality. I would have no hesitation of recommending Belinda and would love to work with her again.

Aaron Itzerott – Media Producer and Consultant

Belinda is incredibly efficient and dynamic… a very useful person to know. Passionate, personable and professional, Belinda is one of the few people I’ve met who will get genuinely enthusiastic about your vision and bend over backwards to support good people with good ideas and intentions. Refreshingly honest, very conscientious and easily anticipates the needs of others to bring out the best in those she works with.

I’d recommend her to anyone looking to keep their project on schedule, on course and on budget!

Jon Pledger – Art Education in Games

Belinda is an extremely hard working and conscientious person to work with. While at Derby University, she helped us out tremendously with the promotion and marketing of the games courses at Derby as well as organising the filming of students and interviews with staff and people from industry. She was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend her as a valuable employee to anyone looking for a hardworking, reliable and friendly colleague to work with.

Gemma Harvey – Former Marketing Manager, Business Computing and Law – University of Derby

Belinda worked for me at the University of Derby. Due to a very busy period in the recruitment calendar I needed someone who could help out immediately and produce well written, engaging communications within a very short timescale, Belinda exceeded this requirement easily.

After a brief introduction to the faculty and the current projects we were working on, Belinda crafted copy for targeted emails, prospectus content and most importantly a faculty newsletter. Belinda quickly built a rapport with key academic staff to write prose that was both well informed and professionally written.

I continued to extend Belinda’s contract until I left for another organisation and would not have hesitated to recruit Belinda as a full-time member of staff should the opportunity have arisen. I wish Belinda all the very best with her future projects as I know she will always give 100%. Given Belinda’s broad industry experience and professional approach I would recommend her for any role that involves PR, Marketing Communications, project support and consultancy.

Kayleigh–Jade Nisbet – Former TV and Film Crew Colleague

Belinda is an inspiration to all who meet her. She tackles a challenge head on from the very beginning and her ambition and creativity continue from start to finish with every assignment she handles. She is persistent, organised and always willing to assist others as well as tackling her own demanding workload. She is not only a massive support in a professional sense, but also a compassionate companion and advisor. Anyone would find it a privilege to work with Belinda.
